Went in trying to manage my expectations with this place as it has so much hype around it and that can often lead to disappointments. This place however was absolutely fab, very much deserves the bib gourmand. Delicious hummus and Aubergine dip, warm soft bread to go with it that was divine. The kebabs are soft, juicy, succulent and just so nicely charred and flavorful. Sides (rice and salad) were a great balance and addition. Service was quick and unproblematic. Very reasonable lunch menu price, we’d defintiely come again - if we can get a reservation, that is.
This place does in fact live to the hype. We arrived exactly as the doors opened for lunch on a Tuesday so we got lucky without a reservation. We opted for the set menu, and boy was this value for money. Both in flavour and portions and taste. The bread was hot and fresh, the dips were all unique in their own way. I would highly recommend the labne dishes and the hummus. The lamb and chicken with the rice and fresh cucumber salad balanced out the spices wonderfully.
Beautiful decor, stunning food presentation, located in a nice area of London(Soho) —but the food was shockingly overpriced and tasteless! I ordered a koobideh, and the color was orange, not from saffron (it didn’t taste like saffron), and the staff claimed it wasn’t turmeric either. The meat was drenched in oil, which didn’t have the flavor or aroma of butter. The sangak bread served with it looked authentic but tasted nothing like real sangak. As an Iranian who has tasted the best koobidehs in cities like Urmia, Tabriz, Ardabil, and Tehran, I can confidently say this was a disappointment. It seems like this restaurant focuses more on artistry than authentic cooking. The food looks beautiful but falls flat in flavor!
I cannot believe this place only has 252 reviews on TA and is rated 4 bubbles this place is 100% a 10/10 restaurant the service is pretty quick once your order is in and the food honestly is 10/10 one of the best places to eat in London hands down Tue dips with the bread is unreal and the kebabs are insanely juicy and full of flavour
