My best friend and I went here for dinner as a Christmas treat last night and it was just perfect. We managed to get a table last minute for 8pm and there was a lovely buzz in the restaurant. LUKE our waiter was so kind, looked after us extremely well and made the evening all the more enjoyable. I hadn’t been to the Delaunay in years so it was such a treat to go back. From cocktails through our three courses it was all perfect. The presentation is really quite something. Thank you LUKE and all for a wonderful Christmas evening.
Really enjoyed my solo breakfast here. The decor is really lovely, the poached eggs on sourdough was £7.50 which I though was good value, and the waiter was really nice. Highly recommend
Despite the charming ambience, this was a serious dud. Food was average at best and service was poor. Our waiter constantly reached across the table to serve rather than walk around the table. Courses were not staged appropriately, sauces showed up minutes after main courses and the food got cold. Prices were high for portion size and quality. I initially tried to book The Wolesley and they redirected me to The Delaunay. I had high hopes for the experience given the location and connection to The Wolesley but was seriously disappointed. There are far better options available and I would seize virtually any of them over The Delaunay. This was expensive and not worth the cost. Avoid.
Pre-theatre lunch just before Christmas. Lovely restaurant ambience, great menu including good vegetarian selection. Chicken schnitzel was a bit dry and was delivered literally in less than 5 minutes from ordering but wasn’t super hot, aubergine schnitzel was fantastic. Waiter insisted on constantly removing what appeared to be finished items without asking, including reaching across the table unannounced to do so. Took away the bread basket without asking and I hadn’t finished it. We just wanted to be left to eat our main course in peace. I would come back as over all it was lovely.
