The Wolseley, an elegant café-restaurant in London's Piccadilly, offers a quintessentially British dining experience that pays homage to its history as a former motor garage. The interior exudes a grand atmosphere, reminiscent of classic European brasseries, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Their Traditional English Breakfast is a highlight, featuring perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, premium sausages, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and toast, all served with a side of black pudding. The portion is generous, embodying the essence of this beloved morning fare. Equally noteworthy is the Bubble and Squeak, a comforting dish made from leftover vegetables, particularly potatoes and cabbage, which is pan-fried to create a crispy exterior while retaining a soft, flavorful inside. The Wolseley elevates this classic dish, adding a touch of refinement. Overall, The Wolseley combines historical charm with exceptional British cuisine, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of traditional fare in an iconic setting.

+ An expensive breakfast, but worth the experience. A renowned cafè-restaurant located in a prime location. Sophisticated dining in a beautiful setting, with good service. A nice treat. - The English breakfast could have included a piece of toast at least for the price paid, rather than being an extra, charged, add on :/

Despite having a reservation for 6pm, it was absolutely chaos at the entrance and they couldn't seat us. We were then ushered to wait at a tiny table by the bar where we ordered a bottle of English fizz only to be quizzed couple of minutes later by another member of staff as to why we were sat there... We were eventually seated at our booked table more than 30 mins late at which point they couldn't find our bottle of fizz. The service was slow and inattentive until it came time to order our dessert when we were then told we might have to vacate the table as they needed it back at 8! We reminded them that it was not our doing that we'd been seated half an hour late, and we were begrudgingly allowed to stay till 8.30. You cannot provide such poor service and frankly average food and then charge what we were charged - I have had far superior food for much less ££ at almost everywhere else I've eaten recently. What a difference a couple of years had made to this once great establishment - it's just not worth it anymore and I will not be going back.

I was apprehensive, reading so many poor reviews, but I have to write, saying that was not our experience When we checked in at reception, they remembered it was a special occasion. We were given a lovely table, so my mother could see what was going on. The service was attentive. I’d enquired about the confit of duck, on the online menu, and, even though it wasn’t on that day’s menu, they had one put aside especially. That is exceptional service. They also gave some macarons with Happy Birthday piped on some decoration Looking around, I didn’t see anyone who didn’t appear to be having a good time
