ikoyi is a new concept unique to London, word can hardly describe the only way to know is to eat there and experiment it. Dishes that transcend region and cruising dishes that crossed flavourful profiles and boarder with a unique approach to ingredients with an opening mind.
This is I believe my favorite restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. It’s definitely on the pricier side but the wait staff is unbelievably attentive. The food was all amazing. There wasn’t a single dish that I didn’t like. Every dish had its own unique flavor but somehow as a whole it was cohesive. Each dish was clearly its own dish and not an interaction on a previous course, but they were all clearly part of the same meal. The presentation and complexity of each dish were unparalleled. All of the wait staff is constantly keeping an eye out to make sure your table is clean and drinks are full. Julie (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) even noticed that I was left handed when she brought out the silverware which is an insane level of detail. I had to actually stop and think about if I’m actually eat left handed or not. They also paid a lot of attention to dietary restrictions and allergies which I love to see. The waitress knew me better than I knew myself! 10/10 would come back.
This is a food adventure as the menu is secret, that said we enjoyed every step of this food journey. The room is smallish but plenty of space at the table, lighting is subdued and the menu is a secret. We enjoyed every course and spent lots of time discussing what we were eating, the flavours, how the food looked and how the dishes were served. Some of the sauces were exquisite and when combined with other sauces on the plate were a delightful match. Hard to describe so much of what we ate but we ate it all. Meal was served over a leisurely 3 hour period which was perfect. Tried the wine matching which flagged up some interesting combinations, also tried some wines by the glass. Service throughout was attentive, informative and professional. The restaurant is expensive and the wines have a hefty mark up but bottom line it was a great experience and value for money. Will save up and go again.
Absolutely inspired, delicious, wonderful food. Totally outstanding. The whole experience was delightful. The knowledge and advice of the people serving was excellent and completed the experience for us. Highly recommended.
