We celebrated our anniversary at Leroy and had an incredible experience! The food was exceptional, with the grilled hake standing out as the highlight. The friendly staff informed us that the dishes are meant for sharing, so we indulged in six delightful plates. The relaxed atmosphere and attentive service made our evening even more enjoyable. We can't wait to return soon!
The food was very good especially the complimentary Madeline cake for my friend’s birthday and the mussels but the waiters were a bit aggressive and rush to pick up plates. They checked on us every few minutes even we were taking some time to chill and enjoying our meal. It would be better to tell us at the end of our meal that it’s time to leave rather than rushing us throughout our meal. If you don’t mind being checked every 2/3 minutes during the meal, their food is really good as a Michelin guide restaurant.
The service is excellent, very warm, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient though they did start to struggle a little once the restaurant was full. The menu needed a lot of explaining. Some of the food was excellent but some of it missed the mark though I’m sure that’s down to personal taste. The tables are far too close together as it’s a small establishment so you are almost touching elbows with complete strangers. The big question is would I come back and after some deliberation the answer is no, there are definitely better restaurants out there.
I saw that someone had recommended this restaurant on Instagram and suggested to a couple friends visiting London from abroad, that we have lunch here. The restaurant is a short walk from Liverpool St station and quite easy to find. The interior was nicely decorated, and the ambiance was quite calm. There were a few diners in the relatively small restaurant but I wouldn't say it was noisy or cramped. The menu is quite succinct but nevertheless, we all found something to our taste. Everybody enjoyed their food (starter, main and dessert), as well as the wine we had ordered. The service was great and staff were accommodating. Would I recommend this establishment? Sure. I can't fault anything. The only thing that surprised me was the rather limited menu however, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
