Came here for the tasting menu, with the wine pairing. Sat at the chefs table and it was just the most delightful and special meal. The chef introduced each course, as well as sharing stories about why the wine was paired. The food was delicious, the wine interesting, and it felt like such an experience, could not recommend enough!
Had really high expectations for Levan but it fell a little flat to be honest. We had the taster set menu and then a few additional items like the potatoes. The scallop noodle dish was delicious and I really enjoyed the sourdough bread! But some of the other dishes were a bit odd to be honest - turns out peaches and beans don’t go together! Quite a spenny experience but no regrets overall as it was interesting - glad I tried (probs wouldn’t go again)
Great meal with some unique flavour combinations. Mushroom ice cream was a particular stand out as unlike anything I have ever tasted and delicious. Despite some previous comments, we were welcomed ‘even’ as 60 year olds!
This is a review for Bar Levan which adjoins Levan. I turned up on a Friday night and there were quite a few tables. They obviously didn’t like how I looked as they turned me an away but sat two young pretty girls behind me. I’m standing out in the rain! 😂 I made a reservation (there were plenty available) and returned. They said we have no table for you, interestingly I stood outside watching free tables. Oh dear - am I too old or ugly?! I don’t think I did anything - perhaps not cool enough. Wait until all the hipsters leave and places in Peckham will be forced to seat residents! 😂
