Excellent. From the minute you walk in you have the scent of a wood fire oven as you walk up the stairs to the second floor. We ate at the bar which I loved because it’s high seating and your front and center watching the chef and the his team in their open kitchen with an island in the center. Every item in the menu is made to perfection. The lamb was one of the best bites I had in all London when it comes to meats. Excellent culinary experience.

This is a great food experience. The set up with the open kitchen and bar close by make it a relaxed but quality venue. Lots of friendly staff help the atmosphere. Agree with others that some tables are disappointingly close. But the star of our lunch was the food. The menu is varied with small plates, starters and mains. We had a group of 4 so could share a lot. The home made fresh chorizo was soft and beautiful, the anchovy bread & sardines were great. For mains we went meat crazy with superb beef, lovely duck combo and probably the best meat I have eaten the mutton. Just when I thought it could not better along came a light but stunning basque cheesecake, try not to share that. Great food and a great occasion, it's not cheap but we felt for the quality it was good value. Superb, we will return, I hope.

Was expecting so much but left feeling very underwhelmed….no way this is a world Top 100 restaurant. The good: Comfortable surroundings. Very good atmosphere. The bad: The food just wasn’t great. The bread wasn’t just toasted it tasted acrid. The £70 sirloin steak was very average. The cream caramel sauce was actually unpleasant to eat. It comes to a lot when you have to say the best thing about a 3 course meal for 4 was the smoked potatoes. The service was just plain awful. A multiple set of different people served us so never knew who to ask for anything. The guy who brought us our drinks was just plain surly. When we mentioned how bad the dessert to one of the waitresses we were told that’s how it was supposed to be without any further discussion. Having eaten previously in Sael, The Connaught and Lyles in the previous 3 days there really are much better options in London.

Arrived on a December Wednesday, party of three, no booking. Graciously seated at the bar where the outstanding service experience began. Excellent discussion of the wine list resulted in a solid Spanish red. Menu was explained in detail. We shared roasted peppers, grilled bread with onion, and butternut squash appetizers. Our main was a grilled rib, greens and roasted potatoes. We had been in London for three evenings and this was a unanimous choice of best meal of the trip. Strongly recommend.
