We had the pleasure of dining at Besh Turkish Kitchen on a recent Saturday evening. From the moment we arrived, the service was exemplary. Our waiter provided excellent advice on menu selections, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. The portions were generous, and the taste was impeccable. Every dish was prepared to perfection, leaving us with no complaints. The overall dining experience was outstanding, and we look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended!
Great Turkish restaurant located within the Sheraton hotel within walking distance of the mall. The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of the hotel and has outdoor seating on the terrace with views of the city and sea. The food we very flavoursome and came out pretty quick. We got two starters and the mixed grill for 4, this is enough for two people. You would end you with a 4 hungry people if you shared it between four. Service was a little slow but we weren’t in a rush.
Was invited for dinner after a scientific meeting where we were seated at a long table, the appetizers were already on the table. The dining area was too dark to see what the food was so we relied on our taste buds to decipher, so the readers could refer to the photo gallery. There were hummus, baba ghannouj, salad and what appeared to be potato pasta with white saucy liquid squeezed across the top, all served in small dishes. There were small cups of spicy soup 1 for each person, but I did not venture to taste it since I was told it was spicy. The bread came in 2 small round flat freshly baked pieces in a metal mesh basket, only 1 basket for our side of 5 people, so we kept asking for more. There was 1 serving of one long cheese pastry that looks like a boat cut across into 6-7 pieces and served over a long slab of wood placed over 2 wood square blocks that fit into its bottom. The Turkish are keen on unique presentation rather than the quantity of food. Afterwards a long slab with grill mix came along, with spicy shish kabab, spicy chicken pieces, but unspicy meat cubes which was the only thing I ate besides the hummus and the cheese pastry. Tgat was it. I was disappointed that no mousaka was served even after I wondered about it. The dessert was only 1 small piece of chocolate cake. No sampler of the known baklava. This was the smallest dinner I've ever eaten at a restaurant here in Dubai because of the spiciness of the food served. I told our table attendant that Turkish food is never spicy and how come the majority was spicy, she answered that the chef is Turkish. Apparently he carried over the common tradition of spicy foods served in almost every restaurant around, even French and Italian ones. I left feeling good that I did not eat much since I've been trying to keep down my weight.
