Had a wonderful dinner at Kordon Yengeç. The grilled seabass 🐟was excellent, juicy, tasty & fresh 😋. Plenty option of cold salad. Cold mackerel was recommended. Good services with nice ambience. Though we're seating oudoor, it was covered & sheltered with warm dining area. Overall it's a recommended place to eat in Kordon area at Izmir.
Restaurant is good, quality of food is satisfying, good position on the Kordon; you have a good selection of fish and meze. Not cheap.
Many in this region would argue that Yengec is the true worthy of a Michelin star and I couldn't agree more. This place creates absolute magic with seafood and is a highly inventive 'raki-meze-balik' place that rethinks and reconstructs much of the classical mezes and fish dishes of the Aegean cuisine. This is a must-go spot at Urla; do so before it gets Michelin-rated and it becomes impossible to find a seat.
We were either very unlucky or the quality and taste of mezes served were just the average, much below our expectations. We tried both cold and hot dishes, and we unanimously had the feeling that neither the food nor the service deserved any applause.
