For some reason, I just don't seem to vibe with French cuisine. This is a nice casual classy place by the river and if you dine outside, it's got a nice feel to it. The food - I find them taste "ok / forgettable", if you know what I mean. Nothing that would make me go wow. Bread was really really hard, pate tasted flat, scallop ratatouille was not bad though. Fish and steak were decent 6.5/10. I'd give an overall 6/10.
Our experience at this brasserie was pleasant overall. The food was tasty, and the service was attentive, making for a satisfying meal. Although we reserved a table for a Wednesday lunch, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. The standout dish for us was the tuna tartare, though the rest of the menu didn't quite reach the same level of excitement. A decent choice for a casual dining experience.
We had a business lunch with a group of six people at PALMIER BY GUILLAUME GALLIOT and we’re all disappointed with the food and wine availability. Food portions were small and relative expensive. No good bread selection. Beef tartar served without any bread; when asked for toasted bread, they did not have it. When ordering a second bottle of our selected wine, we were told that it is out of stock and we had the last bottle - I would expect in a good restaurant with a group of six guests to be told when ordering, that it is the last available bottle.
We felt a little uncomfortable when we first arrived. Our first waitress seemed a bit un-engaging (almost mechanical) in her mannerisms. Somehow though we managed to have Pookie care for us at the table! She was so warm and personable, and thanks to Pookie we had a most delightful evening at Palmier!!! The steak frites was wonderful and the fondant au chocolat for dessert was heavenly!
