The Alcove Restaurant at the Seacliff Hotel in Dar es Salaam is a delightful spot that offers an inviting blend of Indian and Asian cuisine, perfect for a variety of dining experiences. Guests rave about the restaurant's fantastic seaside location, which enhances its charming ambiance, whether you choose to dine indoors or enjoy the refreshing sea breeze outside. While the menu features many standout dishes like the flavorful beef stir fry and butter chicken, the service is consistently highlighted as a strong point. However, there are occasional reports of inconsistency in food preparation, particularly with certain dishes being overly sweet. With options suitable for families, couples, and solo diners, The Alcove promises a pleasant meal amidst a beautiful setting. (Source: Google Reviews, TripAdvisor)

October 2024 3* Visited the place with my South African friend. The restaurant is located at very nice location on sea side. There is casino in the building. The atmosphere is amazing both indoor and outdoor sitting. You can feel sea breeze outside. Service is excellent and staff is very good. Wax little disappointed with the food. So here is my food list: - Hara bhara kabab ***** - Dal Makhni ** (too too sweet) - Monday lady mocktail ***** - Garlic naan **** The restaurant is accessible and very clean. The price is good given the service. I wish they correct their Dal Makhni receipt.
On a Saturday , A busy day. The time for closing is 11pm ….. we reached at the restaurant at 10.30pm sharp but the receptionist won’t get us a table saying the restaurant is closed whist on Google the timing is 11pm. Surprised 😮 the manager allowed us in by luck. But we wasn’t as happy. The waiters were exhausted badly.
The worst customer service ever…They openly show discrimination against muslims and ethnicity …if they don’t want Muslims in their restaurant, they better put a note so its known…And the food was too salty, the juice was watery and too sweet
I was taken here by colleagues during a visit. The food was typical N Indian, but well executed and tasty. We had an enjoyable meal. However the restaurant itself is a bit dated and tired out - in need of a refresh.
