⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of visiting The Gallery Cafe, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The atmosphere is cozy and artsy, with local artwork displayed throughout the space, creating a relaxed and inspiring vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the coffee was some of the best I’ve had in the area—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I also tried their homemade pastries, which were fresh and delicious. Whether you're popping in for a quick coffee or looking to spend some time in a creative environment, this cafe is a must-visit. Highly recommend! Feel free to adjust the details depending on your experience!
The food was great and the service was equally attentive. It is expensive for Sri Lanka but this is a quality place, not super high end fine dining, but you can taste the extra expense. I had calamari to start, the black pork curry, (sensational) and the chocolate nemesis. There was also an interesting art showcase and shop. Interesting place.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had with my family. From the moment we arrived, it was a disaster. We were seated at a corner table because all the other tables were supposedly reserved, but the restaurant was unbearably hot. Despite repeatedly asking for a fan, the staff blatantly ignored us until we were about to leave, and the fan they finally brought was utterly useless. The service was appalling. Getting any attention from the staff felt impossible, and I had to keep waving and even standing up just to get basic requests addressed. To make matters worse, the staff seemed to prioritize non-local diners, serving them promptly while barely acknowledging us. It was insulting and infuriating. At one point, I moved my chair to try and get some air, and my 7-year-old daughter became so uncomfortable that she started crying and begged to leave. This was far from the "family dinner" experience we had hoped for. As for the food—it was a complete letdown. It took forever to arrive, and when it finally did, it was overpriced, poorly cooked, and not worth the wait. My chicken was burnt, and the flavors were mediocre at best. I strongly urge anyone, especially families with kids, to avoid this place. The combination of terrible service, an uncomfortable environment, and subpar, overpriced food made this an absolutely miserable experience. Save your money and go elsewhere.
We visited there for lunch with an infant, the staff were very rude, they only gave us the corner table with no fans, even when there were many empty tables. Secondly, we asked them for suggestions and someone to take the order, we were just being ignored. Our baby started crying because it was so hot so we shifted to another table but we were rudely asked to leave that table saying they were booked. When we asked you can give them another table, they said the guests have booked this particular table which is nonsense.
