An amazing meal. Small cozy and very romantic. The food was definitely Hicham cuisine, done very well. The only thing I missed was a wine pairing with each course. But otherwise it was very good.
Good food, but incredibly slow service. It took about an hour per course. We were told it was the first day of a new menu, but that's no compensation for spending 4 hours at dinner.
Excellent in every way. Was there with my wife last night. One of the best set course meals I’ve had anywhere in the world!
Went with family for set lunch - part of Restaurant week promotion. Been there before which was 10/10 but this time it was less special. Food was ok but quite simple - few elements and lacked complexity. E.g chicken broth on bits (teaspoon worth) of veg and a single rubbery meatball followed by 3 shelled prawns on a tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Mains two lamb ribs - seemingly salted and oven baked (no flavour) with a 2cm disk of dry polenta - no sauce. My mom had crocodile - served generously in little pot but so tasteless. Wine pairing was also disappointing - R285 for 5 sips of very average - some less than average (R75 at supermarket) wines. Also salted caramel ice cream way too salty and inedible. A very expensive lunch with quite an average offering. I didn’t expect the same as usual given the slightly discounted price of R500 per person (which was advertised as R400 per person by the way) but it is still a hefty price for a few bits and pieces. Also they removed artwork from the walls which are bare with holes and patches - eyesores all round. It was a hot day in Jhb and there was no aircon or fan so we were quite uncomfortable. All and all I felt done in.
