After a long day exploring Moscow, this was a great moment to unwind. The restaurant is right in the red square/ tourist zone. It was a great experience. The food was very good, especially the salad and the dessert. I have had much better oysters though. The duck was pretty good too. My waiter was genuinely kind. I really liked that I didn’t sense any pretentiousness. Very affordable too, for this kind of restaurant.
One of the top addresses for a nice dinner in Moscow. Food is impeccable, the service extremely forthcoming and friendly, well-mannered, and the atmosphere with the view is impressive. Among my top 3 in Moscow.
The location is amazing, with a spectacular view from the restaurant. Unfortunately the food is not up to the level of this location. Some dishes were served cold. Prices are too high. I don't recommend coming here for a food experience.
My spouse and I had dinner there in early July this time. A birthday celebration was held. Located in the centre of Moscow, the restaurant is situated on the first (or second, in Russian) floor of the posh National Hotel in the very heart of Moscow. We secured a place near a large panoramic window with a view of the Kremlin, and the gourmet feast began. Our dinner included consommé made from viziga (a dried spinal cord of, in our case, beluga fish) with a rasstegai (a type of Russian pie/pirog with a hole in the top; the name translates as «unfastened» since its filling is not hidden in dough), duck breast with Swiss chard, scallops with cloudberries, crab with polenta porridge and pine nuts, a spruce Pavlova dessert (peppermint mousse, Crimean strawberries, cacao marshmallow), and cherry ice cream with sturgeon caviar, olive oil and a chocolate cookie. (Sounds fantabulous, doesn't it?) The feast was scrumptious, interval. Nothing to add. They also provided flawless service. We left the place after dark, strolled around Manezhnaya Square, enjoyed the beautifully lit Moscow at night, and drove home content and happy. That culinary razzle-dazzle cost us almost RUR 12,000 (≈USD 136). Not inexpensive, I'd dare say... Still, definitely not to be missed! (Parking nearby is available at extortionate fees only—if any at all.)
