The food was excellent. Quality taste and very savory. A little bit pricey but worth the price. No service water and no bread refills. The small amount of bread was already 395 pesos which is not worth the price. Overall, experience was great, friendly and attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere.
The atmosphere of old Spanish colonial style was good. The service was indifferent though. Individual waiters worked hard, but the service was incoherent. Not helped by the guy who I guess was floor manager, who appeared totally disinterested. He ignored my neighbour twice when he made a request. The food looked exciting (see my photo of the menu), but the 1st course was just a mush of mixed flavours. The promised mesclun was just a chopped up regular lettuce. The next course - fish soup - was actually very good, though we had to keep asking for bread, which when it arrived turned out to be a sweet roll which was so wrong with fish soup! The main course consisted of very chewy machine sliced beef served with a dollop of soggy rice which was supposed to be paella. The shrimp was OK. Then dessert was just too many mixed flavours, mostly indistinguishable from each other. Between courses they served a glass of 'lemonade' which was very sweet. When I asked for one without sugar, the waiter admitted it was made with powdered lemon flavour! All in all this was not a good food experience. I would suggest they forget all the fancy menus and multiple ingredients, and focus on less, but good quality ingredients; with less but more distinguishable flavours.
Cocktails with such a bartender are prohibited. my blender cooks better. Even the negroni cocktail could be ruined. it has no taste, color, or smell. Ice and gin. Ps The food is no better. Ps ps I am very disappointed. The restaurant positions itself as an elite one. But, in fact, dirty tablecloths and exorbitant prices. It is better to find another, more pleasant place where you can eat delicious food and drink cocktails.
My kumpare and kumare invited my wife and me for dinner at this unique place inside Intramuros. It has a mix Spanish-Filipino ambience but the food is good. We ordered Spanish chorizo but I think cebu chorizo taste better! Laing was good, mushroom soup with truffle was good also. Beef salpicao was tender not hard. There is a band composed of 3 people who can play the songs that you request- interesting! There are also some restaurants who offer this services. Food is just right- some orders good for sharing but the ambience is quite good!
