If you're planning to dine at Don Sebastião, make sure to plan ahead—reservations are a must! We waited a full day for our spot, and it was absolutely worth it. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, taking the time to show us the selection of fresh fish available. If you order something that isn’t portioned, they’ll even weigh it in front of you and explain the pricing. It’s this level of transparency and care that sets this restaurant apart. Our main dishes took about an hour to arrive, so I highly recommend starting with some appetizers or soup to tide you over. Trust me, the wait is worth it—everything we tried was cooked to perfection. One small tip: you can’t leave tips by card, so having some cash on hand is a good idea. Also, while dressing up isn’t required, it certainly adds to the experience in this charming, upscale setting. P.S. This may not be a Michelin-starred restaurant, but it’s mentioned in the Michelin Guide, and for good reason. We wholeheartedly recommend Don Sebastião—it was a highlight of our trip to Lagos and left us with wonderful memories of Portugal.

To be a Michelin Star I was expecting a lot more…same experience as other restaurants I’ve tried. The food was average. The service felt a bit rushed at the beginning. Need to make reservations so plan ahead. I did thought it was weird, while eating dinner at least 10 people got there and were told to make reservations however others passed by and were told they had a seat for them when just a few minutes later they had told someone no. I feel like they profile individuals. We were told no so we made a reservation in person. The 2 old men aren’t very friendly but the you get one was really nice with our 2 year old.

Good food. Lovely wine. Nice to sit outside. We had a very enjoyable experience. A bit more formal than some of the restaurants but Michelin star may bring that out in a restaurant. Worth a visit.

I have been in the restaurant three times during my stay in Lagos. Very good and the staff was also friendly. The interrieur of the restaurant is also nice. Restaurant was always nearly fully booked, even if it was no longer peak season. A reservation, specifically when coming with more people, is probably required.
