This restaurant would have to be the best we’ve experienced in Mexico during our 2mths here. Wonderful service- so attentive to every detail- even serving your meals out to you. Erik was very good and looked after us. The atmosphere was fantastic and the decor and vibe the perfect mix for a vibrant restaurant- definitely a fantastic dining experience! Would definitely recommend and return in a heartbeat.
Great ambience although is really noisy, the portions are big and well presented. The coliflower is really good, the pasta lacks a little bit of flavor. We were celebrating a bday and never got the cake and the wine selection by the glass, is really limited.
A friend of mine and I went to Barbarella because it seamed to get very good reviews and we were in the mood for pasta. The place is beautiful, if a bit over the top. The hostess could not find our Open Table reservation, OT's fault not hers. After just a short wait she found us a nice table. We ordered calamari misto which was over cooked and very tough.Bad first impression. Next, my friend ordered Pasta Alfredo. The portion was huge but had very little taste. I ordered Carbonara which was served with so much liquid that I thought it was soup. When I brought this to the attention of one of the captains he quickly took it back to exchange it for an Alfredo. What I got back was a drained plate of what he had taken away. I knew because the pancetta was still there so it was definitely not Alfredo. I have eaten many pastas in my life, and made many too, but I have to say that both of ours were, by far, the worst that I have ever been served. When I brought this to the attention of another captain, Harry, who was extremely professional, he assured me that he would take it off the bill and offered to bring me something else. By this time I was not going to take another chance and declined his offer. He asked if he could get us something else, a drink, coffee, etc. I, in order not to be impolite, asked for a dessert. When the bill came the dessert was included. I pointed that out and Harry took it off the bill. All in all it was an extremely disappointing experience, the only good note was the professional behavior of the captains. My advice, find another Italian restaurant.
An interesting place, it aims to be Italian but it's a bit to "kitschy". The food was good, not great, the service a bit sketchy as we had multiple servers and were not sure who was in charge of what. One of the people in our party waited 20 minutes for a wine refill. There were kids at many of the tables and the place seems suitable for that, which is okay. The ultimate offense is that there was a lady sweeping around the tables continuously, she came by at least three times during or dinner. This was quite inappropriate as she was stirring up dust while we were having our meal. In any event, love the decor but won't be going back.
