Every dish we ordered was SO delish. Every bite. The flavors. The waitress super sweet and welcoming. Truly enjoyed the food, staff, & atmosphere!
This place is incredible. My boyfriend and I went in expecting small plates and were pleasantly surprised by how large the plates were. We had the risotto and the muscles to start, which were the perfect combination. These dishes are some of the best we’ve ever had - will be dreaming about those muscles. The short rib was good (I’m not a huge red meat person), but my boyfriend liked it a lot. The ambiance was wonderful - amazing art work on the walls, open kitchen and family style tables. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner out, you won’t be disappointed!!
I feel so inspired by the quality of food, decor, service, and taste level while in Mexico! Hueso is the coolest designed restaurant I've ever had the privilege of dining in. Wooden dining tables are placed in the center of the room, giving the restaurant a communal atmosphere. Customer service was second to none. Our server, JD was very kind and generous with his time; he even wrote down everything we had with our tasting menu to include the way it was prepared. Kudos to hiring great food artists to take care of your guests!
Excellent service & expertly crafted-cocktails, yet somehow still just not my kind of place. We were part of a special group with a pre-selected menu, & unfortunately most of what was served was simply not to my taste. Most of our 8-person group felt the same. The appetizer was hummus, but this wasn't hummus served in a bowl or dish. This was preformed in what I'll call nuggets, & the nuggets seemed to have developed some sort of rubbery skin where exposed to the air. I've never had to chew hummus before. We all ate some, but again, this way of serving this dish was just not to my personal liking. The short-rib bone marrow was appreciated by a couple in our group, but largely remained uneaten. My sister & I chose instead to eat the vegetables, but found them to be completely raw. I am not a fan of raw potatoes, nor is she a fan of uncooked asparagus, so that entire course of our meal remained uneaten. We were also served bowls of risotto & a platter of octopus that largely went untouched. It's very rare that chocolate cake served for the table is not completely devoured. It seems the cake was had such a high chocolate content that it was incredibly bitter, & the strawberries on top of this chocolate cake were soaked in vinegar. It certainly wasn't a sweet dessert, & to my taste it just wasn't a complementary pairing. So, we all took a small bite of the cake, but it too remained largely uneaten. The preset menu included drinks, but the drinks we were served differed from the ingredients listed on the menu. One drink was made with tequila & beet juice. Again, maybe to some people's taste, but most definitely not to mine. The final drink was made with Kahlua & tequila, & again unfortunately, I do not care for coffee flavor. Had I known the drinks would differ from the drinks listed on the menu, I would have saved them the trouble of making them, but instead I felt wasteful & unappreciative of the bartender's exceptional skills. I feel badly for the wait staff who had to remove so much uneaten food & half-full drinks because those items simply did not suit the folks who were being served. I do not know if I was just being an unappreciative American tourist, or if the food would be unpalatable to everyone. Perhaps my taste is not refined enough to appreciate what I was being served. I gave it my best shot, but just could not make myself eat raw vegetables & vinegar-soaked strawberries. I do, however, appreciate the excellent service we received.
