If there is one place you should prioritize for dinner in Nairobi it's this one. The food is amazing at a reasonable price. The outdoors experience is perfect for the summer or a warm winter. And the service is solid. You can't miss on the menu so go with what attracts you.

This place blew me away. It was recommended by a friend of mine who lives in Nairobi, so I assumed it would be good, but I didn't know it would be THIS good (I'm still at my table savoring the flavors as I write this). I originally ordered the grilled squid, but they were out of it, so I opted for the kale salad. I was SO glad I did because it was easily the best kale salad I've ever had... beautifully presented, an exquisite combination of flavors and textures, and perfectly dressed. I followed the salad with a creole rock cod fish thar was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and combined with a delicious assortment of fresh vegetables. To wash everything down, I enjoyed two glasses of wine that both exceeded my expectations, a glass of sauvignon blanc, and a glass of cinsaut. Each was delicious and well paired with my dishes. Finally, the service was warm, friendly, and helpful. I was particularly impressed with my server Rachel and the manager, Frank. They both treated me like family. The atmosphere is beautiful, inside and out. I'll definitely be back!

What a treat to go to Beit e Selma. I haven’t given 5 stars in a long time. This gem deserves all five. Nice ambiance, super service, and African tastes that were new and delicious to us. After reading about the corn ribs, we ordered them and were not disappointed. So good. We also shared the plantains appetizer and the Malagasy fish in a banana leaf. Yum. The other surprising star was the homemade ice cream. We had a scoop of a coffee, cardamom and fig ice cream — as well as scoop of the amarula ice cream. Excellent flavors and wonderfully made. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to any friend.

The service and the food was excellent! Came as a solo diner around 6pm and by 7pm the place was filled both inside and outside. I was fortunate to get outdoor seating which had a nice ambiance to it. The ostrich brisket was quite flavourful and tasty; it has quite a gamey flavour to it if you're palette isn't familiar with game meats. The flourless chocolate cake came with a delicious bowl of ice cream to balance the dense and chocolate richness of the cake. Highly recommend this place!
