Dropped by after a movie, closer to Closing time. Mushroom Soup was creamy, flavourful as it should be. Corn, cheese sandwich, Mac & cheese were good. Service was prompt, ambience is good, from a price point, Writer's Cafe scores very well. Were very tempted by all the Christmas goodies around but decided to skip the inviting desserts.
I have always loved this place and when a friend asked for italian nesrby, I could think of only this place. So came here after really long last week. A very pocket friendly place for good food. Ordered the soup of the day, it was tomato, and it was yummy. it's been a while since I ordered tomato soup anywhere as I have always had bad experiences, it would be too tangy or they would use tinned tomatoes. but here after so long it tasted heavenly. Then ordered a flammkuchen, one of their must try, a paneer panini, watermelon and feta salad bowl and a white sauce pasta. Absolutely loved them all, taste wise and a budget friendly place too.
This is one of the happening places in Chennai. I had been here on few occasions for various book launches. They are budget friendly without compromising on space and ambiance. Their food is also really good. If you are looking to host a small party like book launch, this is the place you need to go to :)
