Yes... That is correct. Best pizza in Shenzhen. Besides, very good customer attention. The wine was not good with the first glass and they went all the way to open a new one and check how pleased I was. This is the kind of attention that gets the customer forever.. also, did I mention how good the pizza is ? We also tried the wings and they were really good... But the pizza... Hummmm
Pizza was very nice. Light airy crust with very good cheese and other toppings. Cold beer, great selection. Atmosphere was comfortable and friendly; Miles Davis the whole meal. A nice break from traditional Chinese cuisine. Pizza is large enough to share, but delicious enough to not :)
I know why you're here. You've been living in China for a while, and you've got a craving for a solid American pizza. You think you're gonna splurge, get a nice pizza, and be on your way Now, don't get me wrong, this is better than any pizza in the US. They use ingredients that would faithfully recreate that experience. 00 flour, San marzanos, bufallo mozz, for sure. They faithfully do everything right and would fit right into the finest establishments in NYC and Rome. However, all that means you should be careful. If you've been eating local food for the past month or longer, you are not acclimated to what is in this pizza anymore. It's an assault to the senses. Eating this pizza gave us body aches, headaches, joint pain, and fatigue because we weren't used to the ingredients anymore. Even l local tea didn't help There are ingredients are clearly imported from America, to this pizza's detriment. I would recognize that chicken flavor anywhere. And all the toxic sludge that you've purged yourself of by living here and eating healthy local food, you have to deal with the consequences of having it in you again. If you choose to ignore my warning, make sure you have some activated charcoal on hand. It won't fix everything but it'll help. This review is 3 stars and not 1 star because it authentically recreates the flavor of an American pizza. It's 3 stars and not 5 stars because it authentically recreates the American post-pizza experience. Note that I do not levy the same criticism at American fast food like McDonalds, at least not to the same degree
I used to come here every week, sometimes a few times a week when I lived in Shenzhen. I lived there in 2018-2020 and just looked on here to see if Quentin/Artisans survived Covid. That's how good it is... I haven't been here for 3 years and here I am, on the other side of the world still thinking about it. I'm actually considering flying from the UK to China just for this pizza... Quentin has ruined all other pizza for me. Also, the carrot cake is great too, oh and the salad with the feta and apples, omg. Oh, and the BandJam beer. Miss this place so so so much. Hopefully I'll be back one day soon... this was pretty much my home for a year or so. Many happy memories in Artisans.
