Pros: excellent food and ingredients, charcoal grilling Cons : high price Overall: 4.5/5.0 Authentic charcoal grilled yakitori. Excellent food and ingredients. However, a bit pricey to go often. c.a. HK$1500 / 2 persons Food 4.8/5.0 - All dish were delicious, which were crafted by the Japanese Chef (Yamaguchi Takeshi san). The chicken itself was juicy and tender, but the chicken flavour was not savoury and intense enough (likely because any chicken you get in HK are chilled or frozen). Charcoal was used for grilling, which is important as I always prefer my grilled food to be prepared by charcoal. Services and others (5.0/5.0): The bar seats give you a good view of the preparation of the food, which fully complemented the dining experience. The staffs, led by Anson, were attentive and friendly, and they were patient to response to our questions and gave good explanation or to guide us for our food choice.
Very good yakitori. The chicken was very good with a unique taste to them. Apparently they are from a farm in Japan that is owned by the same owners of the restaurant. The restaurant is small and intimate and you have a good view of the cooking and preparing the dishes. It had also very good sound insulation so inside the restaurant was nice and quiet, compared to the hustle and bustle of TST right outside..
The food was of an exceptional quality and authentically cooked. We were fortunate it was our second night in Tokyo. My nephew who spoke fluent Japanese ordered a range of plates to come out so we could experience the very best. We weren't disappointed. Everything was cooked traditionally; To excite our tastebuds. The plum wine complimented each morsel and we loved it so much we'd go back when we return to Tokyo.
This is the most ridiculous restaurant I ever go. We had 3 ppl and agreed to order a set and a drink per person. We order 1 premium set and 2 casual set from the menu. A while later, the waitress said we can't have 2 casual and a premium because the skewers are ao different from both sets. The chef doesn't want serve this combination. I said whatever but this is not making any sense at all because what if we came in difference group or separated bill. The restaurant can accept 1 person order 1 premium set. Nothing to do with money, cuz only 2000 yen different. The situation take it to the chef personally doesn't like to make 2 different skewers combination for same group of customer. This is not right. First I all, I felt being look down of the money aiming I can't afford for extra 2 set for premium. Restaurant wants to rip off customer for extra money if this is the hours rule. The chef is lazy and being mean to customer that has to follow or chef just can't handle overload work and neither way is make sense here. Food I don't want to comment because I don't get to the mood to enjoy my meal. Food are no surprised and overly rated.
