No one spoke english and frankly we didn't need them to. There are pictures on the menu and the prices are reasonable. I am so glad we went here. The vegetable sides were wonderful. We had a okra dish that was to die for and another with rice noodles under greens covered in garlic. It was A...mazing. The duck was simply wonderful. The waitress motioned to us to come watch our duck being sliced and omgoodness it was so good. It is quite a lovely place when you sit in a booth by the window even if from outside it doesn't look like much. We loved it and would visit again and again!
While Quanjude is for visitors / tourists coming to Beijing from other China cities, and Dadong is for rich people / businessmen / tourists coming to Beijing from other countries, this Xiangmanlou is for true Beijing Roast Duck lovers. The quality is super, taste is true irresistible, and the expense is true cost effective. The most important, good service.
