Delicious, fiery hotpot with great service and lots of character. Came as a group of 4 and there was a huge queue inside/outside, but they said the wait would be about 40 minutes - and we were at the table in 45. The menu is huge with lots of options (although some were less attractive, e.g. “beef penis”, and others got lost in translation, e.g. “the flesh of the sun”). Highly recommend as an authentic, local experience.
A phonemonal hot pot restaurant. Their spicy broth is not for the faint hearted. They do have mushroom base mild version as well. The staff were very attentive and helpful when dealing with us (no one in our group knows Mandarin).
Took the Trevor James recommendation to try this place out. Not busy at all at lunch time. Quality of the meat wasn't great. Prices were pretty reasonable. No English menu here. I'd recommend Haidilao over this spot for first timers or tourists. Everything will be in English. The presentation is a bit nicer and they have a sauce bar rather than the one sauce you can whip up here. The central flower pot we got was pretty bland. The outer ring was supposed to be their spiciest but I think they were taking it was on us.
Extremely highly recommended place!! We did not speak Chinese at all and all the staff was super attentive and manage to help us with phone translator how to set our menu. The food was extremely fresh and tasty, without any doubt the best hot pot in Chengdu and we try others after and none of them compare to this one. Simply delicious!!!!
