My favorite Chinese restaurants in Charlotte being a native, surprised today they’re charging dinner prices for lunch not letting you know which is very disappointing. The staff is excellent, but it seems like a little corporate greed is going on.
Finally made a visit to Baoding for dinner on a recent Friday night. We were early (5:30) and got seated immediately. There was definitely a wait as we were leaving. I don't believe they do reservations for smaller parties. Loved the ambiance, sort of like old school Chinese eateries from 20+ years ago!! Our server was excellent throughout our dinner, absolutely no complaints there. Menu is fairly large, hard to pick from so many classic items. We started with the crab rangoons (great version) and fried green beans (perfectly prepared, not heavy/greasy). For mains, we went with: sesame shrimp (very nice), Crispy Shredded Beef (hit of the evening) and pork fried rice (really tasty). Prices here are average. We will definitely return to try other dishes that we enviously viewed on other diner's tables.
