I loved Guu—it's one of my favorite places in Vancouver. The experience feels just like being in Tokyo, with authentic flavors and tatami seating. The food is consistently superb, and they have daily specials. We tried the tuna steak, which was outstanding, and the octopus with wasabi and tofu with enoki were also fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and explained everything to us. The place is open very late; we dined at 11 pm, and it was still bustling with diners. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. Adding more. Sep 17 2024 I love Guu—it's one of my favorite spots in Vancouver. The experience is incredibly authentic, just like being in Japan, complete with tatami seating. The food is consistently excellent, and they offer daily specials. I enjoy both their appetizers and main dishes. I don't even have specific favorites because I appreciate everything on the menu and make a point to try something new each time I visit.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Everyone was so lovely and the Yaki udon was delicious. I got the chef’s special which was a cold udon and I didn’t love it but I appreciated the attempt at flavour with the plum and cucumber mix. Staff was lovely and the white peach sake was wonderful on the rocks.
Ce restaurant qui ne paye pas de mine est une pépite ! Délicieux ! Le service japonais est avenant, plein de conseils et l'addition est douce. Gardez 2 dollars pour jouer à la machine à petite surprise, tout droit sortie de Tokyo. Nous sommes allés à Guu pour dîner. Le tataki de thon était extra, de même que le saumon à l'ail. A ne pas confondre avec l'autre Guu côté waterfront.
J'étais partis pour manger un ramen a côté mais étant plein, je me suis rabattu sur ce restaurant. Très très bonne surprise, le personnel hyper accueillant et la nourriture préparer sous mes yeux. Impeccable rien à dire, ah si allez y sans aucune hésitation.
