Expected more of this one star Michelin. Some good composition and good service, but most dishes did not wow me. Also $17 for mulled wine, even if it was excellent, is excessive, and charging $8 for extra bread was a sour note (they only included one for our table of two when neighboring single diner had a bread of his own). All things considered, felt high price tag is not justified. Paid $400 including tip for two for the two set menus, 2 cheapest glasses of wine and 2 mulled wines.
Finally found some time to book St Lawrence. Heard and read may good review and the hype is real. The small interior reminds me of Montreal style bistro. We got chef counter seat and it was great to see the action and also speak with the chef and his crew who took the time to describe each dish. Plating and taste was spot on. Service was attentive. Highly recommend for any special occasions just have to book a month out in advance if you want weekend and the chef counter seating
