I recently tried Curryish Tavern with friends and we all had such a good time. I had seen so many positive reviews about the Green tomato butter chicken and it really did not disappoint. I loved all of our apps and mains. It’s a great place to go to share items - you will want to try everything. I think our next visit will be to try their brunch. It looked like another great foodie adventure.
Was already familiar with Curryish from a previous event and this was my first time at the restaurant. Truly enjoyed every dish as it was modern and innovative. My faves were the Spiced Heirloom Tomatoes + Whipped Panner Salad, Green Tomato Butter Chicken and can’t forget their house made roti! The Sesame Stuffed Eggplant + Peanut Curry was surprisingly so delicious as well. The rest of the menu looked just as good. The cocktails I tried were not outstanding, but delicious nonetheless. Restaurant is simply chic and elegant. Service was quick and staff were nothing short of hospitable. Highly recommend!
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but this is a meal that I will dream about for a long time. I came to Toronto for work and had to stay another night due to flight delays and a friend recommended that I try this place. It was too easy to get a same day reservation on open table on a Friday night. This place is very under rated. Great decor. Eating solo I sat at the bar. The bartender was mixing this really refreshing looking beautiful gin bee drink that I ended up ordering and it was perfect. I had the tuna appetizer and wow it was a blast of perfect complexity in my mouth and was so well presented. Something I have never experienced. I ordered the green butter chicken. It was something I had never seen before in a green tomato sauce and it was truly amazing. I don’t think I can ever order butter chicken anywhere else ever again. The coconut custard for dessert was very light and had a delicious lemon crunch that was a perfect blend. Miheer the owner and chef was working the bar and he is a beautiful human being. Make a reservation and go support this local restaurant. You will not be sorry.
We were visiting from NYC and were looking for a restaurant with innovative takes on traditional Indian cuisine. And we found that at Curryish! We had an amazing dinner and enjoyed speaking with the owner/chef about his passion for creating innovative Indian food. If you are looking for the usual traditional, standard dishes this is not the place for you - but if you are ready to try them with delicious, interesting twists - then definitely check out Curryish! A memorable meal!
