Highly anticipated this meal as it earned Michelin 1 star. It was a 2-hour drive to get there and it’s situated in an industrial looking building. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy, servers were professional, however the food was mediocre. The servers explained that there’s a farm on site and a lot of the ingredients were grown on site, indicating how fresh they were. One of the most memorable dishes was one single tiny ball of potato that was grown in their own farm. All I can say is that it is a potato. Other dishes were fresh and tasted okay but nothing close to Michelin standard. For a meal it was alright but for the price, and the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere, meaning you’d have to plan a trip there, is not worth the time or money to me personally.
One of the best culinary experiences I've had in Canada! Perfect location in the heart of Ontario's wine country and the dining room is set in the 2nd story of a modern barn-house. Great wine selection and delicious tasting menu. Already planning our trip back!
Tried to make reservation and could not get any of the several nights I offered as options. Was put on a wait list. Got an email a week later, that a spot had opened up in two days. But need to give credit card number and $95 non refundable deposit to hold the reservation. Call and back and give the credit card number. Call my wife to say we are going in two days. She is happy. Then get an email in an hour saying that the same time they call wait list people that a spot opens up, they post it on the internet. Sorry, but by the time you called in with your credit card number ( an hour from the first email), the spot was booked on line. Have to call my wife back, and she is mad. They might be good chefs, but lousy business practices, and not well thought out reservation system.
Just an absolute excellent evening we did the tasting menu, excellent service excellent wine pairing very friendly staff. Every tasting had a story behind it where it came from or where it was growing. Tasting menu is a bit expensive but well worth the experience. The wine pairing was excellent as well. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely as we are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The presentation of the tastings was an absolute work of art. Amazing.
