Jiquitaia Restaurant, São Paulo * We were looking for place to have a lunch and found this on google map and decided to go there since it was the nearest to where we were and also near our hotel. Only to realised that it was Michelin Listed Restaurant. Let’s put the food aside first, their service was impeccable. Even though we arrived at 2pm (they closed at 3pm) with 13 person unannounced, they went out of their way to accommodate us. We only finished our late lunch at 4pm (due to wait for table and huge group number). There was no one word of complaint. Even the owner chef was out there smiling and chit chat with us. They serve a typical homemade Brazilian cuisine prepared with quality ingredients. Their location is also very homely and warm. Almost all the dishes we orders I liked. Especially the okra with miso paste, pork crackling. Pity we had no more room for dessert. We had such a good meal that we wanted to go back for another meal before we left São Paulo but our tight schedule meant we did not managed to do so. It was a great disappointment. If you are ever in São Paulo this is a must visit restaurant. Please call in advance to make reservations, don’t be like us! #traveljournal #foodies #restaurantreview #saopaulo #brazil #jiquitaia #michelinrestaurant #michelin
Rating: 4.5 starts rounded up to 5. The food was very good and well as the drinks. I particularly enjoyed the cashew based caipirinha. All the food I ordered was tasty — the okra appetizer, the moqueca, and the dessert.
Everything was amazing here, from the elusive moqueqa for one, the cocktail, to the extraordinary chocolate mousse with cupuaca coulis. Unpretentious restaurant in a hidden corner where the food really stands out. Left my backpack in the restaurant and somehow the hotel managed to retrieve it by calling someone and getting them to go in well after hours!
We were walking around the area and stopped by this restaurant. It was on our list from multiple food review sources. A small place with a few tables. Our server Joseph was very helpful. We appreciated the language barrier and between our translator app and his understanding of English we got through a lunch selection. We started with shrimp sandwich which was delicious. Corn. Sourdough bread with butter and delicious vegetarian stew in coconut milk. Absolutely flavorful. They had multiple lunch specials you could enjoy.
