Located in the vibrant Bras neighborhood of Sao Paulo, Castelões is a delightful Italian restaurant with a rich history dating back to 1924. Known for its iconic pizza, particularly the Castelões pizza topped with in-house cured meats, the restaurant offers a unique dining experience that pays homage to its Italian immigrant roots. Guests rave about the rustic, crispy pizza dough that strikes the perfect balance between thick and airy, paired with top-quality ingredients. The ambiance is a charming blend of nostalgia and warmth, making it a perfect spot for families, couples, and friends alike. With a reputation for impeccable service, diners can expect their pizza to be served with care, cut for them by the attentive waitstaff. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Castelões promises an authentic taste of Italian tradition in a historical setting.

Best pizza I've ever eaten. The Castelões pizza with the in-house cured meat was alone worth the flight from the U.S. The crust really sealed the deal: it's absolutely perfect and the bottom takes on a buttery texture from the pork fat seeping into it. You'll also have your pizza cut for you with a fork and knife by the waiter every time you're ready for your next slice. It's truly impeccable service from a storied establishment. Note that as of January 2022 Castelões Cantina does indeed accept credit card. Also, like much of SP, the Bras neighborhood looks much worse than it actually is at night.
The best pizza dough I have ever eaten. It's rustic, crispy and slightly thicker than usual. The "castelões" topping is awsome (mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce and cured pepperoni). This restaurant is a São Paulo landmark - it's been there since 1924.
Local pitoresco!!!!
