I've never had Southern food before and seen the reviews and wanted to try it out. The service was great! Our server John was on point. He explained everything we had questions about and checked on us throughout the meal. I had the Hangar steak, and it was good, even though it was rare instead of medium rare, like I asked. But it was very delicious none the less. My wife had the chicken and very most and great with the white sauce they added with it. The collard greens I had never had, I could taste the freshness in all the food. No doubt I would go back again if ever in the area again.

Ruthie’s All-Day offers a dining experience that’s nothing short of spectacular. From the moment you walk in, the warm, rustic ambiance sets the stage for a meal that’s both comforting and indulgent. The deviled eggs are a standout starter—creamy, tangy, and bursting with flavor, they’re a delightful twist on a classic that you won't want to miss. If you’re dining with a group, the skillet cornbread is a must-share dish. It’s golden, buttery, and perfectly crisp around the edges while staying wonderfully moist in the center. Paired with the whipped honey butter, it's the kind of comfort food that makes you feel right at home. One of the highlights of the meal was the Big Bad Brisket Sammy. This sandwich is a flavor paradise, with tender, smoky brisket paired perfectly with savory sausage. The combination creates a rich, hearty dish that’s nothing short of divine. Each bite melts in your mouth, leaving you craving more. To finish off, the peach cobbler is an absolute must. It’s the perfect blend of sweet, juicy peaches and a crumbly, buttery topping that’s baked to perfection. Served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s a heavenly end to an already outstanding meal. Ruthie’s All-Day is a culinary gem where every dish brings something unique to the table. I highly recommend going with a group, so you can sample as many of their incredible offerings as possible. From start to finish, the meal is a celebration of flavors that will leave you planning your next visit before you’ve even left the table.

Ruthie's is one of our favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia. The food is excellent and they must treat their staff well, since we notice the same staff members over extended periods. It was still Restaurant Week when we had lunch; three courses for $25. My wife had the cornbread to start and I had the deviled eggs to start. We both had the grilled salmon with two sides for our entree and we both had the peach cobbler for dessert. As usual, everything tasted great and our service was spot on.

The menu says Hearty Grain Salad includes black-eyed peas, "Quinoa, roasted corn, avocado, sunflower, crispy black-eyed peas, lemon, watercress, crushed cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, hummus" $13 The server asks I want to add a protein. No, I don't, because the salad ingredient list has black-eyed peas that provide protein. But the peas are never in the salad. Please, either correct the menu or add the peas. Also, please think about using better quality meat for the burgers.
